Fruit Smoothies               

Introduction

Not to be confused with a milkshake, the smoothie usually has a lot more fruit and lacks ice cream normally found in a milkshake. There are various fruits you can include in your smoothie, but the most popular tend to be strawberry, banana or orange. This recipe is completely free of any added sugar and contains about 34% fewer calories.

 

Ingredients

*      1 cup of orange juice

*      1 frozen banana1   

*      6 packets of Equal® sweetener or 1 cup of fat-free plain yoghurt       

*      1 cup of frozen strawberries or raspberries

*      ¼ cup of Equal® Spoonful™

Preparation

1Peel and cut a banana into large chunks and place in a Ziploc® bag.

Seal and freeze at least 5 – 6 hours beforehand, or overnight.

Method (makes 2 servings)

Place all ingredients in a blender (liquidizer) or food processor.

         

*      Blend (liquidize) all ingredients until smooth.

*      Pour into two medium sized drinking glasses.
